Jamdani is one of the finest forms of handloom weaving, originating in Bengal and recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Each motif is woven individually by hand — a single ensemble can take 10 to 20 days to complete.

At Sãnjh Sutrã, we work directly with master weavers in Bengal to bring you authenticated, limited-edition pieces that carry centuries of artistry in every thread.

We partner with third and fourth-generation master weavers from Fulia, Shantipur, and Dhaniakhali — villages in West Bengal that have sustained the Jamdani tradition for over 200 years.

Yes — every piece is 100% handwoven on a pit loom. Our primary base fabric is pure cotton muslin (Mul-Mul), known for its feather-light, breathable quality ideal for all seasons. Select collections feature silk-cotton blends for added lustre.

• Base: Pure Mul-Mul Cotton / Silk-Cotton blend
• Motifs: Supplementary weft using fine cotton or silk thread
• Finish: Natural, no chemical treatment

Because of the intensive hand-weaving process, each weaver can produce only a few metres per day. Most ensembles in our collection are available in 2 to 5 pieces per design.

We believe in honouring the maker's time — not mass production. This is the nature of true luxury craft.

Yes! Pre-booking is open and we actively encourage it. When you pre-book:

• A 30% advance is collected to commission the weave
• Delivery within 4–6 weeks of payment confirmation
• You receive progress updates as the piece is being woven

Once your order is confirmed:

• You'll receive a confirmation message within 2 hours (via WhatsApp/email)
• Your piece is quality-checked, photographed, and packed in our signature box
• A tracking link is shared once dispatched
• Estimated delivery: 3–7 business days across India

Order modifications or cancellations are accepted within 24 hours of placing. After that, the piece enters packing and dispatch — cancellations are not possible post that point.

Our standard sizes range from XS to XXL, corresponding to the following approximate bust measurements:

• XS — 32 inches
• S — 34 inches
• M — 36 inches
• L — 38 inches
• XL — 40 inches
• XXL — 42 inches

Our kurtas and suits are cut with a relaxed, semi-fitted silhouette — they drape gently and are forgiving of 1–2 inch variation. The Mul-Mul cotton has a soft hand-feel and flows beautifully.

Yes — we offer bespoke stitching for select designs. You can share your measurements and we'll have your ensemble tailored before dispatch. Additional charge may apply depending on the design complexity.

Yes! We ship to the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and most of Europe. International orders are shipped via tracked courier with insurance.

Note: Customs duties and import taxes (if any) are the responsibility of the buyer and vary by country.

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a tracking link via WhatsApp and email. You can use it to track your shipment in real time.

If you haven't received a tracking link within 48 hours of your order confirmation, please contact us.

No minimum order value. Shipping is complimentary on all orders — domestic and international — as our gift to you.

We offer a 7-day easy exchange policy from the date of delivery. If you wish to exchange for a different size or design, please:

• Raise a request within 7 days of delivery
• Ensure the garment is unworn, unwashed, and in original packaging
• Contact us via Returns & Exchanges page

Refunds are processed in case of a manufacturing defect or incorrect item delivered.

We're so sorry — this should never happen! Please photograph the damage (garment + packaging) and contact us within 48 hours of delivery via WhatsApp or email.

We will arrange an immediate replacement or full refund, completely at our cost.

Handwoven Jamdani requires gentle care to preserve its delicacy:

• First wash: Dry clean recommended
• Regular wash: Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent
• Do not: Machine wash, wring, or tumble dry
• Dry: Lay flat in shade — never direct sunlight
• Iron: Medium heat on reverse side
• Store: Fold in a muslin cloth, not plastic bags

All our fabrics use azo-free, skin-safe dyes. Slight colour run is possible on the first wash (especially in dark shades) — always wash separately the first time in cold water.

With correct care, the colours stay vibrant. Avoid soaking for more than 10–15 minutes.
